Man, Woman Accused Of Drug Dealing Nabbed In Riverhead Raid

Two area residents were allegedly nabbed with heroin and cocaine following a raid by the Riverhead Police Department along with East End Drug Task Force.

Richard Kayte, 38, and Charlene Crump, 61, both of 47 Hinda Blvd., Riverhead, were busted on Monday, April 15, following an investigation into complaints of drug activity in the neighborhood, said Riverhead Police.

During the search of the home, officers found quantities of heroin, and cocaine were recovered, along with, items and materials to cut, process and package heroin for sale, police said.

Kayte was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in excess of a half-ounce, possession of controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Crump was charged with possession of a controlled substance and criminally using three counts of drug paraphernalia.

The East End Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit funded by the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini.
